Poll Question:
If you have found an Indian Head penny during your hoarding activities, where have you found them? If you have found more than 1, then where have you found the most?

Choices:

Customer Wrapped Rolls
Brinks or similar boxes
Bank bags
Other

found 2 in '07 - none so far in '08

both were in brinks boxes - nothing special about the boxes like excessive wheats or anything like that

I found a 1898 Indian head in a roll of customer wrapped pennies. The rolls were fairly new and had terrible percents of copper (something like 9 coppers a roll). Also its unreadable on the front and corroded green on the back. But you can tell ole Abe aint ont it!

Found 10/18/07 at a large bank. I have records of each sort!

I've found about a half dozen Indian Head pennies over the years, and all came from customer-wrapped rolls.

I found 9 last year.. mostly in Brinks boxes but a couple in customer wrapped rolls. Haven't found any yet this year.. guess I need to sort more. I figure the odds are that anything I find will come out of a Brinks box because I sort a lot more of those than customer wrapped rolls.

If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.

Found one in the mail once....

I found two totol in 2007. One was 1890 in Brinks box. The other was 1907 in Fedbox of pennys from goverment. Those two freaked me out finding them. I thought they would be gone 50 years ago in those boxes. The 1890 is rough but 1907 is good shape but brown. I wish those coins could talk to tell me on how they got there after all those years. It got me maybe they were cashed in by acident or something.

I love those fed boxes and hoard up pre 64 silver coins such as rolls of 64 half dollers. Maybe copper will be very expensive such as silver is.

My luck with customer wrapped rolls is generally pretty bad (not including coppers). I think with customer wraps rolls it is either feast or famine. I usually get less wheats and never seen an Indian out of customer wrap rolls. I think that a lot of the people that hand roll pick out the good stuff. Of course all that changes when you get somebodies hand wrapped collection, but I have not been that lucky yet.
