But whats that thing in the top left? Doesn't look like any angel I've ever seen.

And he that hath lyberte ought to kepe hit wel / For nothyng is better than lyberte / For lyberte shold not be wel sold for alle the gold and syluer of all the world.

"Copper fairy"! Almost died laughing--then realized it made cents.

I can see that some.

BUT, I see more what looks like clothing design from the 1776 era.

It would be interesting if we could learn what this was for certain.

Bman.......does it look like it has been punched into the coin or does it look raised like someone drizzled some sort of molten liquid to form the design?

Really intricate.

Thanks for sharing.

Enjoy your coin searches, everyone.

it's punched in...I've never seen one with so much stuff in the design.
I will try to get a better picture but the coin is kind of dirty.

Haha! We did look something like that, but if my parents had a Ryedale (or they had a bit of common cents) back in '75, I think a lot of things would be different.

To me, it looks more like a group of people standing over a table. The rightmost individual is sitting, apparently signing a document.

The mintage year is 1975, so a Bicentennial/Dec. of Ind. theme is most likely the image.

In addition, the second-leftmost individual is clearly wearing a tailcoat. The door's architecture also lines up with the time.
The copper fairy at the top, I believe, is a masonic symbol- signifying either a phoenix or an eagle.

Declaration of Independence. Some flags are up to the left, the corner drooping down is the document, and the door in the back is the door to the courthouse. I have a grand total of one....that I can no longer find. Collecting stamped ones are fun.

If the one you found was mine after I might have spent it in error, would you take $0.25 for it? Just kidding, it's a nice addition to the odd stamped Lincolns. The strangest one to date is a toss up between one that modified Honest Abe's head in to that of an alien, or one that stamped a phallus coming out of his forehead. No pics would be posted of that one though.
