Hi everyone,
I'm trying to mail out at least 1 $100 lots of copper cents to a guy in Canada.
Does anyone know how much weight can be put into the med flat rates if the package is going to Canada?

I'm going to be the bearer of bad news.
Canada is considered International, so the weight limit on a flat rate box is only 20 Lbs.
Now sit down before I tell you the cost...
$43.45 oops, Canada is $26.95, the rest of the world is $43.45

Priority Mail Flat Rate International Options (Retail Prices) Canada / Mexico All other countries Size Priority Mail Regular Flat Rate Box (FRB-1) (up to 20 pounds) $26.95 $43.45 11" x 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" Priority Mail Regular Flat Rate Box (FRB-2) (up to 20 pounds) $26.95 $43.45 13-5/8" x 11-7/8" x 3-3/8"
I thought it might be 26.95 per 20lbs...Not really a great price. |

No you can ship $100 in coin at any one point in time. Or carry $5 in coin across the border.
Funny note that means anyone who has meter change should be careful when crossing into canada or mexico... |

I can only imagine, them opening the bag and counting $100.01 in the bag.... so is shipping with intent to have as bullion count as intent to melt? |

has anyone mailed $100 in pennies from US to Canada???? I'm trying to figure if it's worth shipping 1 box or 5 flat rate.
Thanks, JobIII |

The regulations also prohibit the unlicensed exportation of these coins, except that travelers may take up to $5 in these coins out of the country, and individuals may ship up to $100 in these coins out of the country in any one shipment for legitimate coinage and numismatic purposes.
Does anyone know what this means, "one shipment". Is that 1 package, one lot of packages, all the packages you could send in a day?

The $5 and $100 limits only apply to pennies and nickels. They don't work in meters around here anyway. Intent has nothing to do with anything here - and how do you gadge intent. We collect coins in bulk anyway. |

I just want to be sure i'm not anything wrong. Would you mail $150 in pennies in 6 boxes on the same day to the US? |

I don't ship US pennies out of the country, period. Not worth the potential hassle for what has to be under $100 face anyway.
Canadian coppers, on the other hand, I'll ship just about anywhere. |

Yes but Nat you also have a business here in the states. Some of us small minnows have to venture out of the area to make sales because it's a niche market still. |
