| Wish they did a follow up on this caller. See how much she lost, compared to her father. |

what a nut case. this guy has lost his mind. this will be the way most of the country goes. I feel sorry for dumb people.
I don`t even like Glen Beck with all his advertising gold. he is a quack too. |

Ramsey says that these "people predicting gloom are uneducated..." a few minutes later he says that he has no formal education in finance...
I can't slam the guy too hard, he did play a part in me getting rid of my credit card and paying down the mortgage.....
If only I'd bought gold with all those extra principle payments!!!!!

ramsey has helped a lot of people get out of debt but he's very arrogant and won't admit what he doesn't know.
401ks are conventional wisdom but a growing chorus are warning against them. rich dad robert kiyosaki recommends against them.
401ks are good in that they are forced savings and have tax deferral. they are bad in that they are hi fee, have limited investment options, are a target for govt taxation, are illiquid, etc.
if you simply assume that the bush tax cuts will expire than the value of the deferral is almost zero. there is no point to deferring taxation until the tax rates are higher. if you think taxes are going up, then stop funding your 401k! whether you take a withdrawl is a tougher question but its the sort of question one should ask rather than dismiss like ramsey does. |

Ramsey may "help" people reduce their debt without being formally trained in Finance, but then again perhaps anyone can suggest paying your bills down instead of buying a new plasma tv as a novel idea to reduce one's debt. What he did here was disgusting. He personally attacked someone else that he said he had never heard of as a means of building his own self absorbed egocentric persona by spouting dogmatic pontifications from his high horse. Ramsey was taking cues in his ear then referenced Peter's character as if somehow it is the same as own father, whom Dave conveniently and casually cast a dark cloud over. He called Peter Schiff names etc and in the end wore it on his sleeve and made an example out of himself...classic foot in mouth. |
The first panacea for a mismanaged nation is inflation of the currency; second is war. Both bring a temporary (and false) prosperity; both bring a permanent ruin. But both are the refuge of political and economic opportunities. |

I had a lot of respect for Ramsey...til I heard this
I've read many of his personal finance columns and have never heard him speak with such derision (and about someone he's never heard of!!!) You just have to wonder what it is about gold (or silver) that gets people so bent out of shape...it's just metal after all.

Maybe he's playing for the other side!?!
Daddy always told me, never trust a man with "chin-whiskers"!
I bet him and Cramer trade notes on a daily basis. |
