To your knowledge, does any country still back thier currency with Gold?

For that matter, do you know of any country that still back its currency with anything (gems, commodities, etc.)

Swiss, I think 40% backed by gold...no other country to my knowledge

no other gems or commodities....they too hard to value, Gold & Silver easy to value, gems have to be graded and tested for clarity and other stuff.
