I have one (possibly two) boxes of what appear to be uncirculated 2009 LP2s in shot gun rolls. Do they have any value above face or should I just return them to the bank?

Thanks.

I wouldn't think so right now. Seeing as how anyone who wanted a few rolls would have gotten them from the bank when they came out. Couldn't hurt to hang on to a few of them though.

I would trade you something for them.

If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.

Now selling Copper pennies. 1.6x plus shipping. Limited amounts available.

Never return uncirculated coin to the bank. someone is always willing to buy or trade for them.

kinda strong on that Highroller.

Yes, the market is much softer, most collectors have their rolls already. But there are always new collectors entering or expanding that decide they want a roll of uncirculated cents.

Sell them. There are so many in the hands of investors that 200 years from now they'll still be worthless.

I doubt it'll sell.

Selling rolls of ultra-rare 1956-1958 wheat pennies for a mere $5 shipped.

Same conundrum here. Every 2009 I keep, regardless of condition. The reason is simply collector value-they're not making any more.

On the flip side of the coin (no pun intended), they are held by virtually everyone that wanted to collect them.

Howevcer, consider that over the years, collectors may need to sell; or they may pass them to someone who in turn may cash them in. They end up lost, destroyed, deteriorated, etc.

It may be a waste of time, but maybe not....

If you keep them because they're not making them anymore why not keep every year? Of course 2009 does have low mintages but IMO I think unless you have the money to tie up you should just keep copper, If you don't need the money then you might as well go for it, you can't loose anything!

I would think they might go for $5-$10 over FV but that shipping might eat up your possible profit, can a box fit in a small FRB or are the dimensions just not right?
