Purchased 1 order of coins from this auction

You must be logged in to see this link.

Claims to be the best deal on eBay. I did receive an envelope containing $9.10 face value of coins with a scale weight of 8.10oz

1 - Kennedy Half 1964
1 - Barber Dime 1913
10 - Mercury Dime 1924,25,36,40,41,42,43,44,45x2
5 - Kennedy Dime 1956,60,64x3
1 - Morgan 1882
7 - Quarters 1941,44,50,57,64x3
1 - Walking Quarter 1927
4 - Walking Halves 1936,40,44x2
4 - Franklin Halves 1951,57,62,63

Some are in bright/shiny condition.

The base metal price is 28.50/oz of silver content so not so sure how great of a deal this is.

What do y'all think?

My rule for eBay is.. Anyone who claims to have the "Best Deal on eBay Period" may as well be selling from China. You may as well be buying silver from one of those late night infomercial guys. I really had to laugh at the line ""EACH AND EVERY LOT" is guaranteed to contain at least one 100+ year old genuine pre-1904 Morgan Silver Dollar in collectable grade!" That just means that they are not worth keeping for themselves. They are just a common date Morgan in Good to Very Good condition. The only deals you get on eBay are from people who have no idea what they have and don't even list the item correctly.

I am sorry to say that you got taken for a ride to the tune of just over $40.00. With that you could have picked up another 2+ oz. of 90%. Hopefully you learned a lesson though..

I avoid any seller offering "unsearched" lots. There is no such thing.

Also you should know exactly what you are getting in terms of silver content, grade and date as well as what you should pay for it. For example, with silver around $18 you should not be paying any more than 13 Xs face for common date 90% silver coins.

How does he separate the silver coins from everything else? By SEARCHING them.

Good point. Another "selling tactic" that we see here is the seller stating the scale weight of their 90% coins. For example they may represent two rolls of quarters as "8 ounces of 90% silver coins!!!" making the buyer think they are getting 8 ounces of silver when in fact they are getting 7.2 ounces at best. Here's another example:

I'm confident that this 4 ounce lot of silver quarters is, in reality, 20 90% silver quarters (3.6 ounces) being sold at about 17 Xs face.
