I see that scrap yards accept car batteries and also "BATTERY STEEL CASE"

Does that include 9-volt batteries, AAA and AA batteries, etc?

Thanks

This term usually refers to lead acid batteries that have a thick steel case around them. Commonly found in forklifts.

Standard househould alkaline and zinc carbon batteries (9V, AA, AAA, etc.) are expensive to process, so many companies charge to accept them. I've yet to find a company that pays for small quantities of them. My guess is that they can't be worth more than $0.05 per pound unprocessed.
