While building a reserve pile of pennies, I have decided to use the time to go category crazy. CU is being sorted as follows:
1. Basic Rolls - cleaner coins and brown coins (for future trade) 2. EF-AU Rolls - fine CU examples (numismatic play, eBay, etc.) 3. Wheat Specimens - carded (numismatic play, eBay, etc.) 4. Wheat Good (+/-) - bagged (the future Indians?) 5. Canadian Kings - carded (like Canadian Indians?) 6. Canadian Queens - bagged (possibly saving to legally experiment on) 7. Extremely poor condition CU pennies (heavy patina, extreme wear, etc. - I would trade/barter these first and/or possibly experiment on them as well, due to the fact that most are NOT recognizable as currency, and are therefor IMHO not protected by law)
Any comments?

Pretty close to my piles, but I lump most of the US coppers together no matter how nasty and just today I started a AUC zinc pile (just for fun to see if I can put together a complete set or two).
My Piles:
1. US Copper 2. US Copper AUC 3. Canadian Copper 4. Common wheats worth 8 cents or Less 5. Coins potentially worth 9 cents or more (has many sub-categories) 6. Oddball coins: plastic, engraved, foreign, etc 7. And the new one: AUC US zincs
