I would like to make a 5,000 wheat coin purchase before the end of the month on ebay... a buy it now, if I can find one cheap enough and that might give me a fairly reasonable chance at a few earlier dates. The bing search 8% goes away for good the end of July so I want to try and use it for a few last minute purchases. However, bin prices seem to be way too much higher lately than just winning a regular auction and paying the end price.

Do any of you know of any good and fair wheat dealers on ebay?
I have purchased lots of silver through the years on ebay but never any wheats so I am not familar with any good wheaties sellers.

What is a reasonable amount to pay a seller for 5,000 wheats that are not all 40s -50's?
I just want a fair chance at finding some less common from real unsearched wheats but I have no clue as to what is a fair and reasonable price for both the seller and myself.

orbistertius.787 has some large wheat lots as well as many other coins. Ditto what TJCF said.

Thanks for the replies. How do I find out which members here have just wheats for sale?

I have only noticed lots of members with a signiture line selling coppers but not wheats specifically. I am very new to all this.

You might try offering $2.50 a roll and see if you get any takers. Have you tried Craigslist?

You won't find any "UNSEARCHED" wheats on feebay. I have been trying for years haven't found any yet. If you want earlier date wheats you are further ahead to just buy them. The ones that say teens and twenties included just sprinkle a hand full in the bag so they can say that the bag includes teens and twenties.

COPPER - the "poormans" precious metal!!!

SELLING - $100.00 face copper shipped to you for $189.00 machine rolled or bagged - PM me if your interested.

Oh, that's discouraging! But thanks so much for your reply. I was probably going to purchase about 5,000 from ebay before the end of the month so I could use the 8% bing cash back. plus ebates and bigcrumbs, stacked. I also get 2 cents per dollar from ebay. I did check on the prices of the coins that I need, yikes!! I had not idea they were that high. No wonder they can't be found anymore. Thanks again.. Pam

I think on this site you could find people selling a $50 bag of common dates mainly all 40's and 50's for 3.5 - 4.5 times face plus shipping. But like NDFarmer said it'll be hard to find a bag of completely unsearched wheats.

You'd have better luck looking into estate auctions / craigslist. It's just anyone that knows enough to sell in increments of $50 usually isn't simply moving their grandparents coin collection (regardless of what their ebay description says). Ebay always has lots selling at around 4 x face, Craigslist posting are few and far between and it's not a sure bet you will win it.

Selling Copper cents. $0 FV available at 1.4xFV. Also interested in trading for wheat pennies and other coins Please pm me for requests or inquiries.

Thanks for the good advice. I have not ever tried craigslist as I live in a very rural area and I would probably have to travel quite far for wheat cent purchases. It probably would not be worth the time and fuel to do that. I have been checking CL this past week for a 100 mile radias from me and there have been no listing for wheats as of yet.

I guess I could offer to buy on CL but again, lots of travel probably since I am so rural.

I may do the posting here in this forum soon and see what happens.

I am going to start working on 10 sets of wheats between now and hope to have a good many of them in the sets by christmas to give the kids in our family for a gift.
Of course, the sets will be partials and wont include any keys but I am hoping it will start an interest in some of them for future coin collecting.
So I do need to purchase quite a few rolls to get started.

Thanks again everyone for all your helpful comments. Pam
