I helped out a guy I know who needed a little bit of money. Paper money isn't my strong suit. Now that that is out of the way....
I picked up some wheats for 3¢ per. Some early dates, but I haven't really looked. Good.
The questions arise from the paper money I bought. $2 Red Seal '53A $2 Red Seal '63 $5 Red Seal '63 star note and serial number *00770099A. Interesting. $5 Silver Certificate '34D
He wanted $25 for the bills and I took 'em for $20. Seemed good to me.... So, how'd I do?

If they're in good shape, 10 bucks cheap!
good job
If the notes have 3 folds or creases, go buy gas at the ARCO with them. |

Depending on the condition you did good.
The $5 star note is between 12-20 depening on what branch is was made at. The $5 silver is worth around $15 depening on where it was made and condition.
The $2 red seals are common but should bring $3-4 each unless they are in great shape. |

$5 star, how do I tell the branch? Definately circulated. $5 silver says 1934 D Washington D.C. Been folded long ago but looks good. Better shape than the star note.
I'll see if I can't scan them later.

Cool - you did fine. I am curious what that star note is worth. |

Me too, hehe. All of them actually. I hope someone can point me in the right direction. Paper money really isn't my thing....

I like em. I could collect notes, but I really like the horseblankets. My budget is a lot less enthusiastic about that than I am. |

I think they Federal Bank where they were printed is in/around the red or blue seal on the right middle side.
Do you see a City listed in those seals? I can't read them from the scans. |
