yesterday i bought only my secnd 'bag' from a bank. they had just broken them for shippment.
i weigh out 2000 grams, ie. 20.00. into containers. then pull out a handfull to sort on the cottage cheese container tops.
this is usually about 20 coins.
one handful last night, i pulled out a no date buff and a war.
the only ones in that 100.00 lot. so , what are the chances of them being in 1.00.
lol

1 in 454,234,123. Give or take 5. jk That is kind of cool. I always think, if you sort more and more, you are more likely to see the odd things. |

Thats cool. I like getting rolls and seeing wheat's, buffalo's, or large mint marks above the Monticello on the ends before I crack em open. I've thought about not opening them but I just cant |

LOL I hear that! There is no way that I can keep from opening them either! Just too much of a temptation! |

I have a HEAVY (15.2 lbs or heavier) bank box of unsorted and still sealed Cents set aside for each of my children.
I'm saving them so that they can do REAL penny sorting one day when real pennies have been taken from circulation!
I hope they each find a RARE date Wheat cent!!!
Other than that, I too have opened and check ALL of my rolls! |

That happens to me a lot, I find some great coins in the 1st couple of rolls, then nothing for the last 50 rolls. |

That's awesome cwgii,
I can't remember the last time i found a buffalo nickel in my boxes, and to find one along side a silver nickel! In my experience that usually means the rest of the bag, bucket or box is going to be regular coins, still nice though. |
