Going through a couple of boxes of already sorted coppers and pulling out the Ugly Abe's before rolling them, I found a blazing red wheatie. I was thinking it would probably be a 58 or 57, but to my surprise, when I turned it over... it was a 1945 phillie. Whoopee... cool, neato That's like a $15 penny for the condition it's in Every onch in awhile ya find something that reinforces why we keep looking.

I know what you mean! You are thinking it will be a 58 or maybe, maybe , a 57. I think 56 is the best Ive found until this weird 45 I had once. It Looked BU but really worn. Almost like somebody had recoated a worn penny, has anyone ever seen that? |

I know how you feel, Roadrunner. I saw an absolutely stunning Wheat looking back at me, and I turned it over hoping for a good date, and it was a 58-D. But, I was happy anyways, I put it in my book. |

Found one like that.....was sure it was a 56 or 57 or a 58. But no, it was a 47s. Like straight from the mint...but it had a scratch all the way across Abe's face. Other than that, it was smoking penny! |
