31, and for the first time in 31 years, my credit union was completely out of boxes of pennies today. which one of you fools went in and took away my relaxation for tonight??!?
teller was a bit confused...'i dunno why everyone's coming in for pennies today'.
i told her 'i'll tell you for a smile'...i'm 31, not 91. |

A classic Bell shaped curve ...
Actually I would have guessed for something a little different that the results indicate. I was thinking that we would be a little top heavy ... As they say, "Youth will be served."
Oh well, it is all good. |

FormerHSPrincipal, I was thinking the same thing about the bell curve and the age weighting. Give it a few years and it will shift older. I'm right in the middle now. |

Hello Cuppoor, The problem with waiting a few years for the center to shift is that those of us on the upper end may not be around to congratulate you for being correct ... Oh well, it has been a great ride. Wishing you the very best of things to come !!! |

I have 30 pounds of copper pennies, both Lincoln memorials and wheats, not sure how many of each I have, though. btw, I'm 22 years old |
want more copper pennies? I am selling them for $1.25 per roll plus $2 shipping for the first roll and 50 cents shipping for each roll thereafter |

46 and can't believe it. I've been hoarding for over ten years, mainly silver. Got into nickels in early 2007, pennies more recently. |

"posted 10/21/2009 : 01:40:14" "he could hear the CoinStar eating his hoard in the background"
that made me laugh! |

[quote]Coin Shop not "Con Shop"
LOL You crack me up, CC! That was a good one!
I know you wouldn't operate a "con shop" but there sure are plenty of numismatists that do.
(btw, be sure to let us know if you find anymore wheat hoards at work.)
Ditto! I just hate it when you walk in with a really nice coin to have a conversation about, and immediately the guy behind the counter starts to bad mouth it. You look at some of the junk stuff he is selling and it is all "priceless", but he wants you to buy it anyway.
Good luck on the coin shop, they are very busy right now, you should do very well!
BTW, I am 56. |

I'm 46-55, but you'll never know my true age, haha. I'm not really comfortable disclosing how much copper I have on hand, but I have a very respectable amount. Nice to see some young hoarders, as well. |

I am surprised at how many here fall in the category of a notch over a quarter of a century. Real cool and probably real smart age group |

I really thought I'd be on the younger side, but I'm pleasantly surprised. |
