I thought it would be very informative if we could see some finds of our forum members. You read from time to time what members have found but not alot of pictures to go with. Either errors or varieties. I personally would like to see what I've been passing up on. And, please post what you are on the lookout for.

Always check the backs of your wheaties. Wheat ears occasionally have die breaks on the reverse. Something like this. You must be logged in to see this link. I have found several, but usually a little bigger than that one.

Are the die breaks or cuds that collectable?

I've saved a couple that have the date filled in in an 0 or 6 or something, but never really looked at the wheat ears.
I notice this one didn't sell. At less than $2, they must not be THAT sought after.

Apparently they aren't that valuable. Too bad, I have quite a few that I picked up at a penny apiece.

hey, if you could move 100 of them at a time at $0.50 a piece, that would be $49 profit!

My only errors found in circulation are from machine doubling and grease build-up (e.g. a nickel where the "FIVE" is almost completely missing).

A recent cud find.

Personal Method: Place XF/BU coins in mason jars according to year. Search for varieties a year at a time.

Find which are likely to turn up with persistence:

1999, 1998, 2000 "Wide AM" Cents
1995 DDO's
1997 "Double Ear"
2009 LP2 CDDR's
2006 DDO's
1994 "Extra Column"
"Trails and Wavy Steps" : You must be logged in to see this link.
Transitional varieties: You must be logged in to see this link.

The fun is in the hunt.
