Battlecat, remember to sell in chunks I would sell 1/3 every month, to avoid losing a lot of money. Just my 2 cents worth. Also, be sure to sell it here on realcent. Ebay takes too much in fees to be worth it. What are you going to sell? I may be interested.

A few Silver eagles three of which are 1996. A roll of unc. 64 halves. Thats all I can think of off the top of my head. Theres a few other pieces in there but cant remember what.

I may be interested in the Merc's in a couple weeks. You should be able to sell all of those on here for good prices. Good luck! Are these recent purchases that you made, or from a while ago when prices were lower?

You're selling because you need the money? Or you're selling because of dropping prices?

If your going to sell give us a shot here at buying. Would be interested in any fractional gold you have.

you will get as much here as Ebay, and no fees.
everything you have listed will sell if the price is in line.
some prices on this site sell for more than Ebay.
you can`t beat a free sale.

GOOD LUCK

I agree. When I need to sell I sell on here. You get very fair prices with very quick turn time. I would absolutely try to sell here before ebay. And just because the prices are falling here in July does not mean the prices in November can not be like 4 or 5 dollars higher than they currently are. There seems to be a lot of people who think the prices are going to rise dramatically between now and then. In fact if you are needing to save some money, I would consider buying more on the downfall and sell when you need it. You may make a little more than you need.

Prices *normally* start to come back in october and novemeber so you should be ok. I would sell the 1996 Eagles whenever you want though because they are numismatic ones. The rest I would just sell all at once. Much easier and simplier to make 1 shipment than 10 shipments over X amount of time. Also you will drive yourself crazy when looking at the price every 5 minutes lol

I don't use precious metals as a short term savings account or investment. I sure don't know what precious metal prices are going to be in 5 months nor does anyone else. If this is freaking you out then you must be new to holding precious metals. Decide how much you can really afford to hold into precious metals and then stick to it. Even a little held for the long term is better than a lot that you can't afford.

as you can see, silver generally peaks towards the end of September and December. Time your sales accordingly for best results. Both silver and gold will be ten to twenty percent higher than today by then

I bought yesterday on ebay using bing...got a Mexican 50 Peso for $60 under spot, and then bought a 5 peso gold coin from Provident Metals. It's too bad bing is over with July 10...I got some really great deals with it.

I'm envious... I never figured out how to use it, so I'm paying full price for all my ebay deals

Take this month and write down EVERYTHING that you spend money on...down to the penny if you have to. Caterogize the spending and see the "Extra" areas that you can cut down on for next month. It will suprise you at the end of this month how much you spendt and hopefully next month on how you were able to cut back.

As a 'gamble' buying and selling silver/gold can be 'fun'. And generally you aren't going to 'lose your pants' with the normal dips. But you won't always make money in the short term: that is for sure.

You're selling because you need the money? Or you're selling because of dropping prices?

Battlecat,

Why are you selling again? That's certainly not enough to be a problem for transporting right?

Selling because I dont think we will be able to have enough money saved before the move. My intention was to hold for a very long time (retirement) but with this happening so soon we want to have at least a years worth of rent and my car payment payed off two years early. I am also going to be starting my photography business there. Which will take a bit to get established.

I am expecting a run to gold this coming week as banks/currencies fail. Hoping silver follows golds rise.

The daily gold said a hedge fund blew up. After an initial fall, investors ran to gold once they knew what was up.

We shall see.

No trading in the US Monday, will have to watch Hong Kong.
