| I still cannot believe that a 100 kilo physical chunk of "five nines" pure gold, handcrafted into a rare and beautiful coin by one of the premiere mints in the world failed to attract ANY premium over melt value. After the auction fees, the vendor would have been better off selling it to a refinery! |

A fool and their money are soon parted!?! All big things that glitter are only worth spot? The Canuk-A-Mint had good timing?
I wish I remembered how much it went for when it first came up for sale, I think it had a hefty of a premium. This is a pretty good lesson for buying ounces, fractions and grams as a practical investment.
It's a shame the visage is of a mature Queen. She struck a better image on the older coins, especially the (gasp!) bare shoulder .99 Ni Canuk-A-Beaver. |
There's profit if you melt things!! 8{> |

yeah, I like the older Ca maple leafs (silver) that have a younger portrait. The latest 'old woman' portrait just doesn't do it for me!
Mmmmm.... gold at spot!
Still, if bought in 2007, they still turned a profit on their investment. |
