I'm looking thru a bunch of silver halves and what do I find? Kennedy on both sides of one!! It looks real, the right color, can't see a seam anywhere. But then I dropped it and it thunked instead of rang. Darn it, must be a magician's coin! Still, kind of neat nonetheless

That's cool! I still have one of those on my wish list. If you don't want it, send it to me! |

| I have 3 kennedy 2-headed coins. 1 silver, 2 clad. I wasted a lot of time looking at the edge to see where they had cut the coins down the middle, but that's not how its done. They machine out one coin, up to the very rim, then cut down the second coin so it just fits inside. Very precise machinist work, although I am told a hi-tech ion-mill can do it with extreme precision in about 1/2 hour. To find the seam, rub your finger across the face at the edge; one side will feel sharp, and that is where the seam is. I also have an odd coin that is kennedy on one side, and a large British pence on the other side; I can't imagine what that was intended for. |

yep. I found a 'hidden compartment' coin that was done as you said... milled out one, then cut down the second coin.
Very neat stuff! |
