I have 8 close TD Banks to dump my $6500+ weekly.
My closest branch is the main branch and they have always been very friendly.
I don't suffer losses much and in fact, I may be the exception and make more dumping by far than I lose. First, I find lots of coins in the machines. This week, one machine had $17.50 left in it and found a couple dollars US on two other days.
I also check the machines carefully so they don't snag my coins and short me.I must summon an attendant on most dumps to change bags which allows me to make sure that my coins are counted without leaving some behind. I always find coins around the base of the machine and employees either throw them in the counter or allow me to with few exceptions.
I also found two Eisenhower's in the machines this week which stay there until they are removed. I can reach in and retrieve them with ease.
Today, I brought in only a cupful to the main branch, just to check the magnets for non-US and to check the rejects.
One employee came over to see if I needed help. I knew her from visits.
She said to me "is that all?" and I said today I just brought in a small amount and didn't want to bother the staff. She said "oh, don't feel that way, we never mind at all"
So, since I was prompted, I brought in a couple drywall buckets.
It was mid-morning and the large staff was not busy, I was the only one in the bank!
This branch just had a longtime manager retire. A very nice gentleman who had only asked if I was a depositor which I am. I deposit my paychecks and pay bills from my account. (still, I bank elsewhere for my business and other stuff) He was always happy to see me.
The new manager is rarely seen and months went by before I actually saw her. She was at another small local branch the first time I saw her and she put a stop to me ordering halves. This was well over a year ago. I remained very pleasant as did I today. She approached me at the counter and gave a speech that the machines were not for use every couple days. She never said stop, but she meant it with every mannerism.
I am sure that although she can stop coin orders, she would actually get in trouble if she told a customer to stop using the counters.
Still, I kept my cool and just nodded and continued with the male, also now a friend, employee who was changing half dollar bags on the machine.
A half dozen employees, who all know me, were all wondering what had happened. They knew something did but were not sure what was said.
I just kept my smile, and conversation normal and finished up.
They rotate the managers on a regular basis and I will just bide time and perhaps come on Nights and Sundays when alternate crews are on duty.
I did get a bunch of non-US today and all is well. I will keep a low profile and stay out of Ms. Fitzsimmons way until things cool down.
My mistake, I took the bait when I knew, since I had already dumped a couple buckets um...yesterday or the day before this week.
No worries, I picked up 4 boxes of new halves and a box of nickels today.
Happy Hunting!
