I have a number of old electric switches with silver contacts that I have saved over the last several years. Is there a market for either the copper or the silver contacts if I remove them?

You must be logged in to see this link.

Send me an email if you want to refine those silver contacts: sales@marketharmony.net My company will pay you for the precious metals contained in your scrap lot.

There's a market for silver contacts on Ebay. It would help if you weighed them exactly by the gram. Search "industrial silver contacts" on Ebay.

I've collected some silver contacts from old circuit breakers, but can't figure out how to separate them from the copper that they are attached to. I think they are brazed onto the copper. Any suggestions?

I heat them till the solder melts and scrape them off.

Market Harmony is great to deal with. Get them refined there for cash or bullion.

What do you heat them with? I used a propane torch, heated the copper until it was red hot and the silver contacts still didn't separate from the copper.

Propane is what I use, just give it a little more oxygen to raise the heat. Not using it to cut with.
