i got a 100$ cwr at various places yesterday.
i suspect some of you hand sorters do this too.
i dump out the bags, and sort to 'wrapper type' ie cointainer, solid red, or member number if visible.
wellllll. 10 rolls were marked 'sd'. all sorted as it turned out.
a member turned in 20 rolls, that appeared to all have been in a fire, not sooty, but all had 'water spots' and were tarnished to the point of not being legible.
upside, a couple rolls that were almost cu, and sorted by date , within the roll. bottom was 1961 up to a few in the 80s.
as the saying goes, sort more.

Eh, copper is copper. Surely you can clean the sooty ones a bit. It's awful handy when the coins are already sorted by date for you, be them copper or zinc. It could have been worse, all could have been zincs.

Live free or die. Plain and simple.
"If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your council or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen." - Samuel Adams |
