It is extremely corroded but still easily recognizable. What is the oldest penny ever found by someone on these forms? Mine was 1881!

This topic got me reading more in my 2010 copy of The Official Red Book.

I learned several new facts about this coin design. Did you know that it is actually a representation of Liberty wearing an Indian headdress and not an actual Indian?

I know that was new info for me.

Some more cool information: prior to the issuance of nickel five cent pieces in 1866, these coins were popularly referred to as nickels or nicks. Later, they were called white cents.

All of the above information came out of my Red Book.

Congrats on finding one of these. None found through my searches yet.
