First of all, Yeah! I am currently on vacation with the family. In the part of the country I am in I thought there would be no way I would have internet access, however the Internet gods have smiled down on me. I am intermittent service (better than nothing). Anyhow, I am at a restaurant with the family this evening and my youngest needs to go to the restroom. Both of my boys and I head to the restroom. Low and behold, my 4 year old looks into the urinal, looks at me, and then back into the urinal. He then tells me that a penny is at the bottom of the urinal. I just had to chuckle recalling this topic coming up on the forum a while back. Looking into the urinal, I thought to myself, "Looks like a Zincoln. Not worth it." Being put on the spot, I myself would not have it in me to pull off the "splash shield" and the urinal cake and then attempt to retrieve this lost little guy. Of course, my little one did his thing and he flushed. Old Abe just sat there smiling up to us. Again, I just had to chuckle.

I sure hate it because I have picked up some nasty pennies over the years, but I just couldn't pull the trigger on this one. Thanks! Guess I'll just stick with 20.00. Ha!

Sadly I would probably shame myself into fishing out anything worth over a dollar!

Good thing you left it in there. Don't you realize those are tips for the janitor?

Similar thing happened to me at a CFL (Canadian football) game in Calgary once, except it was a sopping wet $5 bill. We were all chuckling about which guy in line would pick it out. The conversation ensued about "what if it was a 20? 50? 100?" lol

This thread reminds me of a tv show that was on several years back(name escapes me)....the premise was simply placing significant amounts of money in very inconvenient places and watching what people would do to score some free dough. As I recall, the $20 in the toilet stall was snagged every time they tried it!

Friend in college used to superglue quarters to the floor just out of reach of a person sitting on the toilet. That way when they sat and looked down they saw a shiney quarter looking back at them and they would have to either scoot up or stand up to attempt to retreive it. Always gave me a chuckle...

no way would i even consider picking it up. I din't i'd pass on all coins or bills, unless i have latex gloves and even then it's still gross to think you'd pawn it off to some unsuspecting person.

Selling Copper cents. $0 FV available at 1.4xFV. Also interested in trading for wheat pennies and other coins Please pm me for requests or inquiries.

Uh, that's one I would have left. Silver, I would have figured out something that didn't include my hands. Perhaps a fork or spoon....

I was at this club once, odd being that I don't drink or dance, and they had placed a hundred dollar bill in the middle of the dance floor and sealed it into the finish. I had a great time seeing all the reactions of the people as they thought they made a quick hundred only to realize they had been fooled. Good times, hehe.

Ah, what folks would do for free money, eh? Good one hcbtt! Never thought about a janitor's tip. Ha! Deal- You have given me more ideas of how to retrieve lost currency in the restrooms with the spoons, forks, etc. Heck, we could probably begin a new thread asking folks what "tools" could be used to retrieve $ from a urinal, toilet, etc. from the restroom. By the time we tackle that issue, McGiver (don't know if I spelled it correctly but then again I never claimed to be an grammar scholar) would look like a kindergartener. BAM! Twenty

Yes, I did not claim to be a grammar scholar but after making my last post above I noticed that I stated "an grammar scholar". For those slightly anal like myself, please allow to correct myself. I meant to say a grammar scholar not an grammar scholar. There. Now I will sleep better tonight knowing that I have made peace with being a flawed person. Adios! Twenty

The money you get in change at the grocery store probably is as infected as the bowl money

The sad thing is you never know their past and this penny from the urinal could be in your next customer roll.
