I was driving along a strip of interstate today when I thought I saw a large piece of metal (it turned out to be a piece of a massive truck tire that the sunlight just made look like sheet metal), but I got to wondering, what kind of laws are there about stopping along the interstate to pick up scrap, assuming you don't leave the car unattended?
I always stop for scrap along any road or interstate. I have never had any problems with anyone. You would be amazed what will fall off cars/trucks where there is a bump in the road.

Yep thats how I got my old lady :P (boy im kinda glad she doesnt read this)
I found a 450lb piece of ductile iron pipe on the side of the road last month that I was able to load into the truck by myself. It was literally worn out after loading it :D.

Not really metal, but has anyone picked up fruit/vegetables that have fallen off of trucks? In Florida, the oranges and grapefruit fall thick all over the grass next to the roads when the truckers take the turns fast.
