2010 Nickel and Dimes reported as of 6/2/10:

Jefferson Nickels - "0" (Denver) 29,280,000 (Philly) 29,280,000 (Total nickels minted)
Roosevelt Dimes - 104,500,000 (Denver) 155,000,000 (Philly) 259,500,000 (Total Dimes minted)

I now know why I found 171 2010-P dimes last week. The mint made 81.5 million of them just last month.

Update on the 2009 nickel/dime production by the US Mint:

Jefferson Nickel - 46,800,000 (Denver) 39,840,000 (Philly) 86,640,000 (Total nickels minted)
Roosevelt Dime - 49,500,000 (Denver) 96,500,000 (Philly) 146,000,000 (Total dimes minted)

The 2009-D is the lowest minted dime since 1955. If you're interested in putting away a few rolls, I think now is the time to BUY some. 2009-D dimes can be had for $8/roll, not much over face on EBAY. I just bought 10 rolls for $82, shipping included.

(Best offer of $75 will be accepted!! )

The 2009 nickels, however, still go for $20/roll on EBAY. I think there should be lower prices on these forthcoming.

How much do you think a 2009 nickel found in a roll is worth?

At the least 5¢. Sorry, couldn't resist.

Plain and simple.

Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."

I just found a 2009D dime. What should I expect to get for it? Any further opinions on whether this will actually retain (or even gain) any numismatic value?

No much value in these yet. You can get BU rolls of these at about $8 shipped on EBAY (I bought 10 rolls myself). Only time will tell.
