Had one of my best days ever. Went to 4 banks today for halves. These are banks I haven't visited in several months. Details:
Bank 1 Total $380 CWR and machine rolled halves:
44 - 64's (includes 1 solid roll) 1 - Ben ('63) 1 - Walker ('42) 56 - 40%s (includes 2 solid rolls)
The 3 solid rolls of silver were marked "1964, 1967, 1969" and were rolled in a type of wrapper different from the other $350 although as you can tell they had plenty of silver also (especially 64's)
Bank 2 Total $70 CWR:
9 - 64's 3 - Bens (all '62s) 22 - 40's (one nearly solid silver roll had 19)
Was so excited at this point I had to try a couple more banks, but I was brought back down to earth:
Bank 3 & 4 Total $270 CWR and machined rolled - skunk

this is uncommon enought to warrent a special post. last night i got a 1899 that was pretty worn, but still , it caught my eye real quickly. lolol

Nice!!
It's a select group of folks who have found V-Nicks in 2010 sorting $62,925.50 (1,258,510 nickels): zerocd has found 6 of them, and fb101 and ZigMeister have each found one each. We can now add cwgii to that select list.
I've found a V this year, an 1896! But that was shortly before I joined realcent and therefore not in the tracking threads I think. |

Box of Halves
3 90% JFK 11 40%
Also found a Bi-centennial "S" mint silver coin. From the look of the edge of the coin and the research I've done online I believe it to be 40% silver. Is that correct? |

The latest SILVER stats for June have been posted. Look to the first post of this thread to get the details. Always look to the line just before the Kitco quotes to see the last post that was included in the latest update. |

Compare the patina with some of your other 1965-1969 halves. Does it give you the wonderful SILVER real money ring when it's dropped on a table? 40% halves weigh 11.50g; clad halves weigh 11.34g.
The 1976-S halves circulation strikes were all 40% SILVER. The 1976-S proofs were either clads or 40% SILVER. |

Picked up my first canvas bag (1k) in a while yesterday. It was marked with a unfamiliar tag but I noticed some stamps and hand writing on the bag that had a date in 1996 ! Got me all excited. Searched the bag last and there wasnt a coin older than 1997 but the results were not what I wanted....

Sucks but I think I may be on to something here...hopefully next week will be a lot better. |

NICE DIME BOX!!!
Thanks Country. I have a recount to make. It turns out that I found 3 more Roosevelt (silver) dimes. I did a recount of my silver dime pile and I'm not sure what date they were but for sure I missed 3 silver dimes the first time through. So the total count for that monster dime box is 24, not 21. Thanks! |
