Platinum has crossed the $1500 level. This is is bad news, not just because I don't own any, but because platinum is a darned good inflation indicator. This information has been floating around on the internet since 2005, but here is its most recent incarnation: You must be logged in to see this link.

"...platinum may be the leading inflation indicator. Platinum leads inflation by 16 months, while silver and gold lead inflation by 14 and 12 months, respectively..."
