UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is an update to a post I made earlier somewhere on this site and I can't find it now.
I bought THE half dollar bag from the brinks machine at my dump bank.
About two weeks ago I posted how when a cent bag filled up I was standing near the machine and noticed a half dollar bag almost full and it had tons of silver in it & a hong kong 2 dollar coin in there. The teller took my name and number and guess what; they called me this morning...
JACKPOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I paid $500.00 for 1000 half dollars but here are my sorting results:
1004 total coins ____________________________
0828 copper-nickel clad halves (1971 & later); 1 is a 1988 proof 0103 40% halves (1965-1970) 0030 90% halves (1965 & earlier); 2 of these are Franklins +____ 0961 total half dollars
NOW FOR THE REMAINING 43 COINS THAT ARE NOT HALF DOLLARS AND IN MY OPINION ARE THE MOST INFORMATIVE AND THE MOST EXCITING. THE LIST IS ESPECIALLY FASCINATING DUE TO THE UNUSUAL COINS ACCEPTED BY BRINKS AS HALF DOLLARS AND ALSO EXCITING IS THE COINS THAT WERE FOUND....
ONCE IN A LIFETIME. AS FOLLOWS:
1- 1997S SILVER KENNEDY PROOF 1- 1780'S CONNECTICUT COPPER UNKNOWN VARIETY (GOOD+ CONDITION) 1- 1794 CONDOR COPPER PROMISSORY HALF PENNY (XF+) 1- 1921 GREAT BRITIAN 1 FLORIN (SILVER) 4- CANADIAN 2 DOLLAR COIN 2- HONG KONG 1 DOLLAR COIN 2- MEXICO $10 DIEZ PESOS (BOTH DATED 1998) 1- MEXICO 20 CENTAVOS (DATED 1960) 2- NEW ZEALAND 20 CENT COINS 1- AUSTRALIA 20 CENT (DATED 1968) 1- AUSTRALIA 1 PENNY LARGE COPPER (DATED 1943) 2- GREAT BRITIAN ONE PENNY (DATED 1897 & 1921) 1- NETHERLANDS 2 1/2 GUILDEN (DATED 1972) 2- MAGYAR? 50 FORINT (BOTH DATED 1995) 1- COSTA RICA 100 COLONES (DATED 2000) 1- GERMANY 5 DEUTSCHE MARK (DATED 1975) 1- FRANCE 5 FRANCS (DATED 1975) 1- ITALY LIRA.100 (DATED 1979)
NOW IT STARTS TO GET A LITTLE SILLY
1- LARGE WASHER 3- COPPER CENTS 1960'S (ALL BEAT UP AND BENT) 1- ZINC (BEAT UP AND BENT) 3- WASHINGTON QUARTERS (ALL BEAT UP AND BENT) 2- BALL O MATIC GOLF (BRASS TOKEN) 4- ABC BATTING CAGES SALEM, OREGON (BRASS TOKEN) 2- UNKNOWN NEW BATTING CAGE (BRASS TOKEN) 1- SWING AROUND FUN TOWN SAINT LOUIS (BRASS TOKEN) 1- UNKNOWN NEW TOKEN WITH V.B. AND A COAT OF ARMS (BRASS)
What a spectacular find! I feel like this was a christmas blessing. When I get around to it I will upload some pics of the findings.

Most, (the modern foreign coins) probably not worth too much, but others....
1- 1997S SILVER KENNEDY PROOF 1- 1780'S CONNECTICUT COPPER UNKNOWN VARIETY (GOOD+ CONDITION) 1- 1794 CONDOR COPPER PROMISSORY HALF PENNY (XF+) 1- 1921 GREAT BRITIAN 1 FLORIN (SILVER)
and maybe these.... 1- AUSTRALIA 1 PENNY LARGE COPPER (DATED 1943) 2- GREAT BRITIAN ONE PENNY (DATED 1897 & 1921)
My picks for best value. At least worth more than face. Probably only happen to you once. Once again sweet find.
