I am fairly new to CRH. I live in Northern NJ right outside NYC. I was wondering if anyone had any good tips or best ways to search. I tried halves for awhile, after searching 3000 worth ~ and only finding 1 Franklin and 2 40% compounded with the problem of TD Banks penny arcades only taking $100 per bag seemed to become more hassle than worth? I am doing all pennies now which I enjoy the most. They are much easier to dump. Any tips, advise, or criticism?

I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.

I'm in the NYC area as well, and I had the same problem w/ TD Bank's counting machines...not only do their bags only hold $100, but the machine under counts 90%+ of the time. Check out Hudson City Savings Bank (there are over 100 in NJ and a few in NY) their machines are dead on accurate from my experience.

As far as searching goes, the more coins you sort the better your chances of finding what you're looking for, so just keep at it.

Welcome to the forum, I'm a new member myself and everyone here is very nice/helpful...it's a top notch place!

I suggest getting a $1000 worth of dimes, and see how that does. If you can find a silver dime per $200 you search then you have average silver, but some areas are better. Also go to a bank supply website and buy half dollar wrappers. Then you can return in quantity and not worry about coin counters. That is assuming banks in your area accept rolled coins.

You also need a Scale to check your rolls for consistent weight. Its boring so easy to make error, a scale helps you guard against that.

Def will check out Hudson City Savings Bank, and I will try a few boxes of dimes and see how I do. Thanks for the tips.
