Alright... I know other halves searchers have topped this, but I'm pleased nonetheless In box 3 of the weekly halves search I found Smilin Jack peering out from the end of a bank-wrapped roll... almost like one of those ebay scams. When I opened the roll, there was his bro This breaks my record for best roll (one 90, one 40)... which I also tied in this box. AND... smilin jack repeated his trick again!! Total take 13 90's and 3 40's This makes me wish I had been doing this for years

haha...the big finds are pure luck and more than anything the product of living in an area that has hundreds of banks within a handful of miles.

Yeah, you lucky dog Where do you live? I'd love to bump up my weekly buy another $2000, but I have no other source and don't want to push my luck at my present one ($500 pennies/$2000 halves a week)

live in the boroughs of NYC. I don't blame you for not wanting to push your luck...nothing worse than that feeling of walking into a bank and the look on all of the tellers faces is "not him again". I could swear they jump up to put the "out of order" sign on the coin counting machine as soon as they see my car in the parking lot.

Are you hand sorting $500/wk in pennies?

Thing about halves is they're so easy to sort. You could probably do 20 boxes a day if you had the supply/cash. I figure just keep at it, and eventually the quantity of coins searched will pay off for sure. I tip my cap to those like Country who have 27 of 30 boxes (or whatever it was) all 94' BU....I don't know how many of those I could take before taking a break. Hopefully I'll never have to find out, but something tells me the coin searching will is to be tested eventually.

How many times do you get shorted on your halves?

I haven't been shorted yet... but I've only done twenty boxes. Started 4/23 and have found $350 worth of silver so far. I like it

Are you doing bank wrapped rolls or customer wrapped?

PennySavied, I don't have the time to go to a bunch of branches and pick up CWR's, so my finds are from bank-wrapped rolls. Also UDEric... I machine sort with a Ryedale, I just box up the coppers and will someday search them for wheaties when the day arrives when the banks cut us off.
