Hey all,

Saw a commercial on tv selling $5 eagles for $132 Minimum 5 per order so I called them and with shipping + insruance UPS ($31) the total comes to $691.

Here is the website: usmoneyreserve.com

Thoughts and opinions? Anyone dealt with them before? Perhaps you can make a better deal ;)

Thanks,

Justin

After some research I found on a kitco forum from feb of last year quite a few people talking about this company. I think they are selling older coins so they would be 2009 or 2008. The kitco forum said they were looking for $84/coin and saw the ad in a magazine.

Most did get the coins but others had issues which mostly seemed like the buyer not understanding the nature of markets and price fluctuations. Some said they got calls about future deals and some upsale attempts when making the order about other products. I'm going to check a local shop here and see what they can offer since the price is going down today I might be able to get a better deal there without the shipping costs.

They will most likely deliver what you agree on and then send you color glossy post cards every other month for coins at incredibly high prices. They will come without an envelope. Their deals are not worth it in my book. Call a real coin/PM, dealer/distributor that won't hassle you or send you anything in the mail. An occasional email would be OK but these guys are just silly.

Edited to add,

Be sure to check the BBB of Austin Tx out, I am sure you will see "great reviews", one of which I gave them!

Based on BBB files, United States Rare Coin & Bullion Reserve has a BBB Rating of C- on a scale from A+ to F.
Reasons for this rating include:
35 complaints filed against business
Click here for an explanation of BBB Ratings
The Better Business Bureau has received a pattern of complaints alleging consumers purchase coins from the company and later find out through independent appraisal that the coins are not worth the price they paid for them.

The company responds that coin dealers may not always appraise certified coins appropriately since their profit margins depend on the cost at which they acquire coins. Therefore, an individual will most likely not receive the full market value for their certified coins from a coin dealer.
