In a city wide rummage sale today I found alot of good stuff in the free boxes many people had out.
-a microwave oven -a toaster -a box of old flywheels -an old 20' outdoor extention cord missing a plug at one end -lots of misc. metal-curtain rods/nails/etc...
A few items super cheap -32oz. brass plumb bob for $1.00 -brass plates/candle holders for $0.25 to $0.75 each
It pays to search around-other peoples junk is my gold!
I've gotten quite a bit of metal from yard sales and such. I like to hit Church yard sales just before they are about to end. Most start handing out bags and you can fill a bag for a dollar! I'll go through and get any Brass, Copper, or AL that I find.
Found more good stuff in the free piles this weekend.
-2 oven range hoods -microwave -old tall stand lamps -a box of old handbags, ripped the brass buckles off and also removed the zippers-they seemed to be copper or brass. I'll just burn off the fabric around the zippers. Also found a few old wheat cents from the 1950's down in the corners of the old purses. -alot of old trophies with engraved copper/brass plates
