Some of my best boxes for coppers have been my worst boxes for wheats. I figure that some of those heavy boxes are partly made up of a coin collectors and/or a wheat hoarders rejects.

Woohoo.. I matched TXTim! Yesterday one of the ladies at work was going to the bank to cash the petty cash check. I talked her into picking me up a box of nickels and a box of pennies. Both boxes were customer wrapped rolls.

I sorted the box of pennies this morning before heading off to work.
1082 copper
43.28% !!!
Best percentage I have had in a long time. I have to get over to that bank and see if I can pick up a few more boxes of pennies.

If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.

Now selling Copper pennies. 1.6x plus shipping. Limited amounts available.

That's weird, because I got one of those a few weeks ago in a roll of nickels. An Austrian coin. I used to find a lot more European coins when I first started searching a few years ago, but not so much anymore.

Haven't had a chance to look at that box of nickels yet. I have to hand sort those.. LOL. The paper looks a little older on them though, so they look promising. Picked up a bunch more today that had even older looking paper.

Today was a pretty good coin day even though I only had time to get to 2 banks.
Washington Mutual - Richmond
$4.50 loose half dollars
23 CWR half dollars
40 CWR dimes
90 CWR nickels (old paper)
256 CWR pennies

Wells Fargo - Pinole
10 boxes BWR pennies - They had 2 extra boxes for me this week.

Guess I better get busy and get some more pennies before NotABigDeal gets his Ryedale and drains all the copper out of the market. I look forward to seeing him join the ton club this year.

Sorted the half dollars.. I guess the Silver Santa ain't gonna be doing no return visits here this week. Did find 1 extra half dollar and a handful of nice BU's. Didn't have any zinc rolls in the car tonight so had to use 4 rolls of the halves to buy gas.

If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.

I have been a coin collector since I was 15 (over 35 years ago) but hoarding copper is now my main coin focus. I have searched 4 $25 boxes and another $40 of assorted penny rolls in the past ten days. My average copper find per roll is a tad less than 25% as I have $34 in copper to date. My best roll was 19 copper and my worst was 2. In addition I amm averaging about 8 wheaties per $25 and 3 canadian pennies with 98% copper. My best find to date for wheaties besides the 4 in one roll has been a 1920 d in good condition. I am finding a variety of 30's 40's and 50's to add to my already large box of wheaties that I have had for years. I have enlisted friends, family and coworkers to be on the lookout for the copper pennies. Living in Maryland there are about 15 Wachovia banks in my driving radius and they are very nice as long as you are a customer of the bank. I intend to hit them all in the coming months. I am now recycling my zincs at a free counter at another bank instead of using costar which was costing about $1.85 per recycled box. ( total less copper). I have enjoyed reading all the posts and wish every one good luck in this free treasure hunt,

Welcome to the forum orioleman. I am a long time collector too (43 years.. since I was 6) I am averaging about the same number of wheats per box as you are. You can't beat this hobby. You get your box of pennies.. have fun searching through them for treasure.. and you still have all your money! Glad you were able to find a bank with a free coin counter.

After reading all day yesterday about NotABigDeal getting his new Ryedale while I was stuck at work, I had to rush home and get my Ryedale fix. Even though most of the day was shot from work I managed to get a little late night sorting in.

Did 2 Bags - 200 customer wrapped rolls pennies
1987 copper
1 darn dime
19.87%

-a few more than I had before.
