How did Highroller get as many tons as he has? What was the process to obtain this amount? I think from looking at historical posts, it has to be around 60 tons....
Also this should maybe go in the nickels section, but whats the source on those?

Yes, it is actually a little more than 60.
Not going to go into great details but The Portland Mint has hooked up with a company than can suppply basically limitless amounts of pennies. We than run the pennies through a few industrail sorters and pull out the copper. |

Since Highroller owns a business, he can have the armored trucks deliver and pick up directly with him. No dealing with lazy tellers. No limit on coins, just have to pay the armored truck fees.
Hope I didnt spill the beans... |

The nickels really are from high stakes poker. And yes, the Portland Mint is real. |

Anyone can have coins delivered to almost anywhere. It just costs a lot of money to do it that way. Basically you would have to set up a contract for them to deliver 1-7 times a week and than depending how the contract is set up you would have to pay for each item delivered and each item sent away. It is very costly to do this so thats why my operation is set up differntly. |

baczekj basically to sort the volume you are talking about you need to have a secure location, storage facility, the equipment and most importantly the capital to hold the coin for as long as needed.
A sidebar note: Most armored car companies that I am aware of only deliver to commercial locations, so as they say on T.V.
Don’t try this at home, leave it to the professionals! :-)

Well, I would not say anyone...I did call two armored truck companies in my city a while back asking about how to get deliveries. One simply hung up on me, the other laughed at me and then hung up. There are security issues that they have to consider, so they will not deliver to a persons house, it would have to be a business of some sort. |

What is the sort rate on the industrial sorters and are they more accurate that Ryedales as far as pulling all the Wheat/Indians? |

What is this? An inquisition? Some of these things you guys are asking is none of your business. This is his job. Production figures, coin aquisition, amount sold, these things do not concern anybody outside the company. highroller4321 has been gracious enough to answer tons of questions. Leave it alone.
What's next? Asking for the business address, or how about his home address? Man....

It's simple, really.. they "just sort more." |
If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.

Deal
I can't put words in anyone else's mouth, but I for one am not prying for details as to his operation. I was just curious if there might not be a simpler way to accumulate from a source, even if one had to pay an armored carrier to supply the coin. We're all proud that Portland Mint is making a go of it, in a sense he represents the ultimate dream of most sorters. Curiosity is natural... if he feels the questions are too personal or intrusive he only needs to hint at that. Now... to avoid further pesky questions... you guys figure it out yourselves. To obtain 60 tons of pure copper... you've all seen the percentages others obtain. This is the end result of sorting probably 300 tons or mixed. The percentages of wheaties and Indian heads found doesn't seem to differ markedly from one part of the country to another... except that those of you who sort on a smaller scale will likely have found better percentages, since you have time to sift the zinc piles... which most likely a pro wouldn't waste the time doing. The coins are safe until the Chinese get to the moon and melt them for infrastructure. You must be logged in to see this link. |

Deal,
Its asking questions to perhaps learn a better methodology, not prying. Obviously he does something different than most people by seeing his stash. To me it seems stupid not to ask? Maybe there is a a sorter that Ryedale is holding out on |
