just sorted $140 thru the Ryedale. Sifting thru the zinc pile for buried treasure I found a nice looking wreath in very good condition. Turning it over, it happened to be a 1903 with full Liberty... probably XF. Whoopee! Then... not another handful later, found an 1897. Also a 1918, 1938d, and 1939s. I look thru the zincs just hoping to find good pre-1940's dates/mint marks... so this was an unexpected bonus. Yeah baby!

Nice luck. I'm still trying to find something before 1909.

Whoa! Do you consistently resort your zincs?

If you don't double-check your zinc piles, either visually or by double-sorting, you'll miss out on your best finds.

Nice find! The earliest I've been able to find is 1912. :)

What about setting the Ryedale to sort out specifically the zinc, and look through all the rest?

That would unnecessarily overwork your machine. The catch mechanism would have to open four times as often (if your coppers are at the 20% range)
