On the last day of the fourth month of 2010, our household finally finds the extremely elusive 2009 dime.

My husband was running an errand today and gets four of these dimes back in change. I was so excited I was squealing with joy. You would have thought that I had won a million dollars.

Enjoy your coin searches, everyone.

Good for you! Couldn't happen to a nicer person. I ask every place but none here. Congrats!

We did go back. I bought something to get dimes back in change then I spoke with the store manager and they allowed me to buy one roll. Nothing in them. Sorry this took so long to post the reply.

I did go to coin shop and bought four 2x2s to put them in for protection and wrote notes about when/where found, etc.

The 2009 coins still seem to be pretty elusive here in Central Florida. For the amount of coins passing through my fingers lately, the amount of 2009 coins found is extremely small.

Did you happen to ask at the coin shop what they are selling them for, or whether they even have them available?

He hasn't mentioned having them for sale and he knew what I wanted the 2x2s for so I am sure if he had any for sale, he would have let me know.

Of course, the ones that I found are probably only worth something to me since they were found in circulation, even though they look like they are in BU condition. But since they aren't in an original mint roll or mint bag, I doubt that they would be worth any premium over face value, except for possibly many, many, many years in the future. Mine wouldn't be for sale, though. Too hard to find the 2009 coins for the kids' anniversary jar. I did have a coin collector offer me a bit of premium for my 2009 nickels (the ONLY two I have found) and I politely declined his offer.

Enjoy your coin searches, everyone.

I got 14 2009 D dimes in change at WalMart.
that was all she had of a whole roll, she had given them out in change.
since we are good friends she is watching for a roll/rolls for me.
I told her to watch for nickles too.
the banks don`t have any, even the bank WalMart uses.

PreservingThePast,
you have agood find hold on to it.
is yours a P or D?

GOOD LUCK

All of my dimes or nickels from 2009 are the P mint mark.

PTP, what coin shop do you go to? I frequent a few in Lakeland.

Are you throwing that out?

I have found ZERO '09 nickels and dimes here in the Philly (Chester/North Wilmington) area. I never ever ever go to Walmart, so it looks like the search will continue. :)
