How many cents, during those 5 minutes, did you sort to find the IHPs.
I'll figure the odds. |

Assuming the odds of finding a IHP is 1/180,000. I think that's close, maybe low.
The odds of finding 2 IHPs in a [random sample] of 1000 cents is
1/180000x1/180000x1000/1= 1 in 308,642,000
That doesn't take in to account specific consecutive dates |

That is where the odds come in my mind. I think I am going to go out later and get a lotto ticket or two. I go two five major banks to get my normal penny supply and all of the IH have (eight) have come from the same bank brand. |

Those coins you found are similar.
'Elderly old Lady' punched out her dead husband's whitman folder and banked'em.
To find the consecutive dates odds we would have to take into account the mintage of each year you found that is still in circulation. We would probably be looking at 1/10^15 or higher |

you didn't state the source of your coins. Are they from a box, or CWR's? If they're from rolls, Eric is probably right... as much as I hate to admit it and welcome, newbie to the Forum. Talk about a Grand Entrance! |

Still looking for the stealie I rode city bus until 4th grade then a bicycle. School busses were rare in the late 40s. It was up hill thru snow drifts both ways in South west LA . Copper was only cent but did not save then. |

The two IH were from the same bankers box, not CWR. |
