Had a Freudian slip today and asked a teller for any "silver" she might have instead of half dollar coins. She looked confused and asked if that was an old term for coins. I quickly said yes and corrected myself and wondered if anyone here has done the same thing?

I haven't made that mistake, but imagine if the teller had answered, "yes, but don't tell anyone. We always keep a roll of Franklin halves for those who ask."

If you really want to confuse tellers, ask them "Do you have any clad?"

Or cents... Or Ikes... If you really want to confuse tellers, often all you have to do is ask a question. That was mean. I apologize. :)

Tellers seem to be coming around but, it is amazing that those in the "money" trade have such little knowledge of their currency. It is a lot like the education system not educating "true history".

" The average man doesn't want to be free. He wants to be safe."

If you ask for "silver dollars" they will at least know you are looking for Ikes and not the new dollar coin. I once asked for silver dollars and the teller said she had 6. But she only had 6 clad Ikes, which I bought any way.

It is really amazing to me how ignorant those in finance are about what they deal with.

I have asked for, "cents," and been corrected as meaning quarters.

My favorite was the time I asked for a box of "cents." I was told, "Half dollars are now illegal for banks to give out. We have to send them all back to the mint."

Silver Monometalism is the most permanent and stable form of money the world has seen. Natural law and history prove silver value is best multiplied by gold and best divided by copper. It is only in this counterfeit currency time when the natural law appears suspended.

Ooo, do tell which bank this was, I want to make them my new dump bank. Wont ever have to worry about getting my dumps back as they will be shipped to the mint and destroyed, since they are now illegal...

Since they're illegal, we're shipping them all to Mexico. Haw.

No, silly, those are guns. But since we're talking about halves, those guns only take silver bullets.
