A first for me. I got $20.00 of half dollar coins loose from the coin shop guy to search through.
I found my first 1987 P half dollar. This is the son's birth year and the first 1987 half dollar that I have ever found. I also got one 2005 P, that's the year he graduated from high school so I kept that one too to give to him one Christmas.
Nothing else of interest to note from this $20.00 amount.
Enjoy your coin searches, everyone. |

I sorted 4,000 quarters ($1k) tonight. 1 1951S in fair condition. Pretty meager take for the tonage I have to lug back to the bank. But probably just enough to make me do it again. |

$3000 Halves - Brink's Boxes
Boxes #1, #2, #3, #4, #5, and #6 SOLID BU 1994-P BOXES!! YUCK!!
I've now got 37 of these 1994-P BU boxes out of my last 41 $500 half boxes!! I'm going to cut back to 4 boxes a week until I get some good boxes. I guess the BU boxes have to run out someday.
However, I'm having fun sorting pennies for copper. |

If you kept all 37,000 of those coins you'd have 1 out of every 641 1994-P BU ever minted! That's crazy.
Bought my first Nickel Box...opened the first 30 rolls here are the results:
2 War Nickels (43', 44') 1 1986 Canadian Nickel 16 Nickels that are 1960 or earlier (1940 being the oldest)
Also...I kept aside maybe 50 or so of the 2004/2005 nickels with 4 different patterns on the back (LA purchase, buffalo, etc.)...do these have any value? Should I hold these? or are they not worth holding onto?
Thanks!
P.S.- Final 20 rolls to be opened tonight or tomorrow...will report the rest then. |

Final 20 rolls from the Nickel box:
20 1960 or prior (oldest 1939)...found one 1955 plain (seems to be a lower mintage year)
Also found a 1955 wheat penny in a nickel roll |

The 1939 nickel has potential to have a DDR so check each of these you find. Also, the 1939D and 1939S are two of the five key dates for nickels.
Did you check the 1955 wheat for DDO?
Good finds! As far as the 2004 and 2005 nickels that you kept some of, my Red Book says they would be worth $.25 if they were an MS-63 and $.75 each if they were an MS-65 condition. I think a few members keep some of these designs as a personal preference for their nickels even if they are not in pristine condition.

$666.50 CWR and loose halves (12 banks):
1 - Ben 1 - '64 9 - 40%s 1 - '78 Norway 5 Kroner
By the way Country, this '78 Kroner isn't a duplicate to the other one I found. Not sure what the odds of finding 2 are, I didn't return the first one so its not the first coin - I have 2 now. Must have a Norwegian dumping in my territory. |

No DD on the Nickel or Penny, and the 39 is a plain but thanks for the heads up! |
