I have a couple of old dishwashers comming to me if I want them and was wondering if there is any scrap value in them. I have only scrapped aluminum and copper before.

I understand that the circut boards contain silver. My guess is that the older the better as far as silver goes.

I get one every week. Sometimes they have copper lines still hanging off them. The Kitchen aids have stainless it looks like on the outside (didn't magnet check it though). Lots of torks screws to get the cover off of the stainless one. I cut the wire off with wire cutters and sell it as insulated wire Appprox .90cents a lb. Also the motor looks to have copper windings. You could get almost 10 cents a lb for the motor. And I scrap the steel casing. Look for stainless trim and handles too. It should weight about 80 lbs. @ 6.0 cents a lb for steel right now. Good luck.

I strip all the wiring and take the motors out of all appliances then sell them seperate. Really makes a difference in price

Good advice, limestone, and welcome to the realcent forum.
