Wouldn't you think people would be running to gold and silver if they are scared about the stock market after news like Goldman Sach's? Seems like it would have went the other direction.

Years ago that was the trend. If stocks tanked or if we were going into war investors moved into PMs. Now it seems the dollar is strengthened and that moves PMs down too.

But water reaches its own level eventually.

Its funny I was just reading about how the thin volume on the stock market meant, historically, that it was due for a sudden drop. Looks like that has come true, at least for today.

Why would the government filing charges help strenghthen the dollar?

The dollar strengthened today because the euro dropped. More Greek debt crisis jitters. Nothing to do with the GC/SEC stuff.

The difference between an optimist and a pessimist is that the pessimist is better informed.

Oh ok guess I missed those articles with all of the Goldman stuff that is lurking around.

I would think either one would be major blows to the European and American economies. I guess pick your poison.

When you sell stocks, the flipside of that is you are "buying" dollars.

Not to mention that some of that money may be dumb enough to buy government bonds with it.

I just, within the last hour, sold 40 generic rounds(santa claus, no mint) for 20.00 each to a local guy who runs a storage unit. He knows the market but didn't care. I'll be looking to replace those rounds soon.

Tough day in PM's. Hard to admit I got a haircut today also, having bought several hundred oz's
in the last few weeks. No worry though I'm in for the long haul. May have to get out the VISA and blow off the dust and BUY THE DIP.

After I recover from the shock reaction of seeing silver shoot down, I know that we are still dealing with a heavily manipulated metal. When the bubble in PMs get going, even $20 silver will be considered a bargain. I keep on buying the physical, especially on the dips :).

Just start buying silver. Really I hope the price does not increase substantially for some time. I believe the long term potential for silver is hard to ignore. I just hope to accumulate as much as possible before the market wakes up.

When other markets drop margins have to be covered so traders sale other assets such as gold and silver. That is what happened in 08/09.

Silver in my opinion is cheap under $50 bucks, Under $20 buy buy buy. A couple bucks does not really mean much for a long term investor. They next run will take us over $20. By 2012 $25 will be the low.
