I have been sorting 50 cent pieces since the first of the year. I keep hearing stories about finding Walkers in the wild. But I doubted your stories about finding them. Until today. I found TWO in one box, one was a 43 and the other one was a 44. They are so much different than a Kennedy that I just cannot believe that no one at the bank or the armored car service wouldn't see them and pluck them out. I suppose everything is done with high speed machines and they don't pay much attention to what they are feeding the machines.

I have found Franklin's but no Walkers yet.
That had to put a smile on your face!

| Yes I was very happy. Maybe some day I will find one of those monster boxes people talk about with dozens of 90%ers in it. |

This is my first post, but I have been reading the forum for a few weeks. I have been a long time buyer of silver & gold, but never thought about searching rolls of halves from a bank until the kind people on this forum. I was motivated at the finds people were sharing and thought I would give it a shot. My wife thought I was crazy, until my first purchase.
I went to bank and asked for $50 in pennies and for $100 in halves. Pennies were no problem, but the teller said she only had two rolls of halves. I took them and when I got back to the car, I took a quick peak and was stunned. They were all Walkers and Franklins! I couldn't believe it. (I have been paying $115 per roll at my local coin shop) It was either dumb luck or confirmation that I am doing the right thing.
A week later I went to the same bank (different teller) and asked for halves and he said he had $70. I took them home and they had $40 worth of 40%! I am going back today to see what happens next. (just to show that I am not making this up, I bought $650 from various banks and nothing!) It's obvious that someone deposited a coin collection to the bank!!!
Sorry for the long post, but I had to tell someone that would appreciate it. |

| Congrats webvideopro, awsome finds. Since I started CRH last August, I have found 17 WLH in circulation. I agree, they are so different I am supprised they dont get snagged out of cicrulation by someone at the wrapping facility. I guess either they are not allowed to or they are too lazy to get them. |

Great Find!! That's how it is - go to the bank and get rolls and you may get lucky. |

I know it is hard to believe. If I remember right I think one person found like 15 or 17 Walkers in one box that is even harder to believe.
I started off the year finding about 6 Indians by about mid February and have not found another one since. I guess Indians and silver goes in bunches. |

Theo - I'll have to keep the address of my special bank a close family secret. However, I did just visit and they had no halves at all... However, I used to be branch manager of a credit union and they just ordered a $1,000 box of halves for me and $200 in pennies. Hopefully the luck will continue at a new place! (I will pick them up Tuesday) |

| All these awesome postings. I'm jealous. I think if i find an IHC in a batch of $1500, i'm lucky. And halves i'll search $5000 a week to yield only 1-5 JFK's mostly of the %40 variety. |

NDFARMER I try to get whatever I can from three banks but they just don't have any and they will not order any in. So I'm way down in looking for silver this year. |

I don't blame you Again. It sounds you are off to a great start! You might want to casually ask where they are getting their halves. If you are lucky you will hear something like, "A blue-haired old lady brings us a couple rolls every month or so."
You never know where a friendly conversion with a teller might lead. My biggest score was 2 1/2 rolls with over 2 dozen franklins and walkers along with a handful of 40% Kennedys just before Thanksgiving. I was only going to buy one roll when the teller casually remarked, "An older lady brought these in this morning. . ."
