So how do Franklin Mint coins work? I have been perusing my World Coins guide and I see a coin I like, look it up, and it says Franklin Mint Issue.
What does this mean in relation to it being actual currency? I guess I am kind of confused as to how a private corporation would mint coins for foreign governments and have them be legal tender at the same time that the gov. is also minting its own coins.

I think typically those governments contract with the Franklin mint to produce some or all of their coinage- cheaper for them than having to mint it themselves.
