"The land fills of today will be the gold mines of tomorrow"... Ponce
Why?...... think about it, two billions plastic water bottle are thrown in the trash every day worldwide and what are they made of?... oil.
The above is only one example because a lot more is made of plastic and in the future when there is a shortage of oil people will be going into the landfills in order to dig out the plastic and metal to recicle them.
If I had the money I would buy a land fill already full and build a house above it.....something else, you can obtain methane by pushing down a metal pipe into the landfill to be used for heating and so on.

I always recycle my plastic, but I wish I could convert it into plastic bars or at least grind it into a powder for easy long term hoarding storage. We who recycle are providing the raw materials of industry for free.

I recycle everything I use. Does anywhere currently pay for plastic, like on a per lb. basis? The landfill idea is #1, I believe that will be big industry in the future. Just imagine all the electronics thrown away that contain copper, gold, silver, etc. No one recycles circuit boards from VCR's, or clock radios, or calculators, etc., people just replace the item and throw out the junk. This is why silver is quickly being depleted, since it is the #1 conductive metal, (even more than gold), and it is almost never recycled. Silver is usually is in most everything other than PC's. PC's circuit boards are recycled and is big business.

Yes, but you must call around to actually find a place that will, and you must have extremely large quantities. check out You must be logged in to see this link. On the left side of the page you'll see what you're looking for. Should give you an approximate idea of prices.
It's my opinion that in the future, the proles will mine the landfills for all they're worth. Desperate times ahead, no?
