Hopefully, one of the signs of aging is getting smarter and wiser, and that we do not the same mistakes twice.

My question for you is this ... Looking back over the years, what is the one thing that you simply trashed or allowed to disappear that you could have used countless times since, but no longer had, and have been kicking yourself ever since?

Yes, my Big Mouth Billy Bass. I really miss him. The dogs somehow got ahold of him and ripped him to shreads. Drinking alone has never been the same since...

I should have shown more gratitude the some people who really were helpful and generous.
I should have enjoyed my spine more, (before the great L5 disk collapse of 01)
I should have enjoyed my friends in the military more, some of them are very brilliant and good people. I really took that time for granted.

Most of us throw away time or don't recognize good times.

As far a money and things go. Blew lots of that too. But we really don't own that stuff anyway. All of us will have everything stripped from us.

What we will be left with is a great and awsome gift that we don't deserve. Noone is good enough to earn it on their own.

This is an important week. I for one will reflect on my blessings.

For me, it was a 200 pound anvil that I allowed a neighbor to have for $20.00 if he would move it out of my barn so I would not have to when I moved. That was 15 years ago ... The $20.00 has long been spent, but oh how I could now use the anvil.

This relates to road finds. I was driving along the highway one time and saw about 15 identical cloth bags strewn along the side of the road (bags that zipper closed and have cloth handles). It looked like somebody had been speeding along and threw these out the window one by one. Most of them looked rather full. As I went along, all I could think of was "somebody robbed an armored truck, and was ditching the evidence." I did not want to pull over because it was rush hour traffic, and there was not a lot of room to safely pull over on the side of the road picking up all these bags. Plus the attention it would get from all the cars sitting around in traffic. It was driving me crazy, so on my lunch break I had gone back along the freeway to look. Every bag was gone. All other rubbish (plastic, pieces of car bumper from accidents, etc) were all still there, so I know it was not a clean up crew that picked them up. The fact that each bag was gone, just made me beleive even more that there was something in them making it worthwhile for somebody to get them all.

I know if these bags had been what I was dreaming (money), it would have been dishonest to keep them, but one can only hope right?

There are alot of things I wish I'd have kept. But the one that jumps out the most is a 89 Lincoln Mark 7 LSC. I miss this car so much and it's been 4 years since I had it. For those that don't know, LSC stood for Luxury Sport Coupe. Most people called them a mustang in a tuxedo. It had the same drivetrain as a mustang from that era in addition to pos lock diff. and 4 wheel disc ABS brakes. It was a 2 door car, not the big a$$ boats most people think of when you say Lincoln. The Honduh boys never knew what hit them when they lined up against it. It had the air-ride suspension as well with a firm setting for excellent handling but still gave a smooth as silk ride. The car was beautiful, at least a 9.5 on a scale of 1-10. I am not ashamed to admit I have literally shed tears from time to time over this car. I WILL OWN ANOTHER ONE!!! I suggest to anyone, if you ever get a chance to buy one, dont hesitate! They are brilliant cars! I need a beer now.

Lincoln Mark 7. Mine was identical to this one except for the wheels. Same color and tinted windows. Even if you have subs, you have no idea of how low the exhaust tone is on a 5.0. A true pimp ride if there ever was one.

All the firearms I sold that I had bought during the late '80s. The price to replace them, if you can even find half of them, is beyond my budget anymore...

1964 VW Type 1

The car was all original with moderate rust but I sold it in the mid 90's after the engine tossed a rod.
