The guy that is selling that bar use to be a member here, I remember buying $100 face of 90% halves from him. (bestcopperbars)

These copper bars are nice, but the premiums over spot are horrendous. 5KG bars are being sold for $110+shipping - that's $10/lb for copper. Spot copper is around $3.40. SILVER bars don't command that kind of premium. I wonder why the copper bars sell for so much over copper spot? I think that you'd be better off BUYing copper pennies, than purchasing the bars.

Perhaps the reason why such designer copper bars have such a high premium over spot is because currently there is such a limited market for them compared to silver bars. Volume sales allow for lower production costs.

But I understand what you are saying and I agree that copper cents will give you the most copper or 95/5% brass for your money.

I've got one of this guy's 5 kg bars and boy are they pretty. Didn't mind paying the premium for a nice Bar. It's definately not an invesment buy for me, rather something bright and shiny for me to pull out and look at.
