If they changed the metal composition again to an even cheaper steel composition would you start hoarding the zinc's too?

Yes there will be a US coin debasement soon. You must be logged in to see this link. . No, I will not hoard zinc because a) zinc is a really cheap metal b) there is still copper I'd rather tie up my pennies in.

No, because like jade said your money is better off in copper.

Later down the line I might get into zinc though. That is only after copper is hard to get.

I won't bother hoarding the zinc cents.

If they stop making the zinc cents, zinc prices will probably fall.

There will be more to be made off of keeping just the coppers. Eventually finding copper will be like finding wheat and that will be the time to keep zinc.
