I'm a moderate nickel hoarder. I don't buy bricks or bags, just get $10 worth at the bank when I deposit my check and save them out of my pocket change. I certainly don't miss the ten bucks. Yes, over time, I've accumulated quite a bit, but don't believe there will be huge profits in them. Just another method of diversification in my hard assets, for an uncertain future.
I still only hoard copper cents, but I would be a liar if I didn’t admit the consideration of nickel hoarding. Like others have posted; the timing has to be right. For me the right time will be when the mint announces a composition change. Then I will wheel a dolly to a few of my local banks. I will do this not because I believe that there will be a run on the existing Jefferson’s, instead for the reason of no sorting/ pure percentages as well as increasing base metal value potential. My 5 cents, Rodebaugh
