Sorted 6 boxes this rainy weekend...4 yielded our normal 8-12 wheats per box. The other two kept my kids interested:
71 in box number one 73 in box number two
two 1910's....4 later teens...bunch of 20's and 30's
My 8 year old daughter was the one to beat...she pulled a household record 11 from one roll and 9 from another...shattering the old record of 5. My son was not very happy to see that record go and then go again...he was mad for quite a while.
Gotta start tracking which bank the boxes come from so I can go right back and get more when I hit a load like this. Keep sorting.......
Wife thinks I am nuts but as long term investment...nothing like starting out with buyin price of less than 50% full value. Worst case...they are worth what Ie paid for them. But...I think we got less than a year before they change the penny/nickle to steel or another combo.
Kids get all the wheats...sure keeps them interested....so far. Found a NYC token and several foreign coins last lot too.

She probably already thought that, now she just has more of a reason.
My daughter loves looking for wheats and Canadian in the copper buckets. Your wife won't think you are nuts when you find something really valuable or when you start selling those coppers at 2X or more face. Hopefully this will be sooner than later.
You don't have to be the BEST you just have to be.......SLICK
Yeah I know the feeling. Everyone who knows of my habits thinks I am crazy - from my coins to my scrap metal fetishes. I know that my girlfriend thought I was a little bit less crazy when I found a 1912-s wheat in a box I sorted.
