You got me beat. Last time I got 6 rolls of halves only 99 of them were silver.. 88 90%ers and 11 40%ers.

If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.

Now selling Copper pennies. 1.6x plus shipping. Limited amounts available.

I would go something like:

"my husband/wife/kid so loved those halves last week that I just thought I must get you guys(don't do it for just him) something as a thank you!!" and give them a couple bags of chocolate or something nice. Not too formal or expensive, but not the cheap cheap chocolate either!!!

"May your percentages ever increase!"

It's all about being there at the right time and place. Sort of like increasing volume to increase finds.

I have accounts at 7 local banks and may hit 3-4-5 branches on some days. I always make sure the radar is on and make the most of teller interactions.

The half-life of silver can be minutes and sometimes seconds in these teller situations. The recent post about going to see a teller who had called about silver on hand a week later and scoring is highly unusual.

Great find and concrats!

It's out there, are you?

Having just provided my own bank with chocolate, ditto what Wolvesdad said, but I'd be specific and say "The kids really like them". Planting the seed in thir minds, "who would give something of value to their kids?"

BTW-Mine were the Hershey's boxes. One with nuts, one without. About $9/ea. Really good, but not formal nor expensive imho.

That's too much IMO. If it were me I would buy a $5 or $10 Starbucks card (or whatever business is in the same plaza) and give it to him on the next trip. Just let him know you probably wouldn't be using the card anyway but you didn't want it to go to waste. That way you're still taking care of the guy and solidifying a friendship without drawing too much attention to the previous transaction.

I would even go a step further and say dont give him anything. If you give him something this will raise undo attention to what he gave you. Himself or another teller will wisen up to the fact they are handing out thousands of dollars of silver. I just give my tellers nice big smiles and carry on pleasant conversation with them. Thats their reward.
